Being able to be part of the Global Learning Program has had a big impact not only in my professional career but also in my personal life. I've found the different events throughout the year to be very informational and practical for us as students living in the US to understand and get to know what is happening overseas. Being aware of big issues that not only because they do not affect us directly, does not mean that they are not happening, such as human trafficking, genocide, corruption, and many others. It has motivated me to be a better person. More proactive and more involved in the community. It has made me want to have an impact - no matter if it is in only one person or in a thousand, but make sure to change somehow someone's life at my own pace. 

The program has also allowed me to realize how important is to be open-minded and respectful to others, no matter how different they think from us. I believe that is one of the biggest and most powerful takeaways that I will take with me for the rest of my life. 

I am looking forward to what the future will bring to me and can't wait to apply the knowledge that I have gained throughout my whole education at FIU to be able to change the world little by little, one day at a time.
